Sasha Rainbow won best short documentary at Atlanta Film Festival, Raindance, DC shorts and Best Director at the Mumbai
Shorts International Film Festival for her film ‘Kamali’. It was nominated for best short doc in Palm Springs Shortfest,, PSSFF19 and Rhode Island Film Festival 2019., and currently CameraImage.
Kamali is now long listed for the Academy Awards and distributed by RYOT films.
Kamali is a documentary about a single Indian mother’s fight for her daughter’s empowerment through skateboarding.
Sasha’s short documentary ‘Kofi and Lartey’ won the Award of Excellence at the Impact Docs Awards and Best short at Docs Without Borders. Sasha won Voice Of A Woman Award at Cannes Lions in 2018. She is currently developing it into a feature documentary.
Sasha is currently BAFTA CREW 2018 &2019 alumni and attended Yaddo artists residency in 2019.
Sasha is working on her first feature fiction film based in New Zealand, One Degree (Of Separation).
